Volunteer Travel Fund

Send someone to Bangladesh for as little as £10. Every £1,500 raised covers one volunteer's flights so they can deliver wheelchairs, home adaptations, and commodes to destitute children in Sylhet.

🎯 £1,500 = 1 volunteer trip to Bangladesh
What the £1,500 covers: Your return flight to Bangladesh, transport from the airport to the village, and basic village accommodation. This is not a city hotel: expect ceiling fans or table fans, no air conditioning, and simple living. Bring a sleeping bag or camping mattress for comfort.

Food: Basic meals are provided. If you would like fuller, nicer meals during your stay, we suggest contributing £50 per week (so £100 for a typical 2-week trip). This helps us provide better, more varied food for volunteers.

The experience: You will live in a rural village surrounded by greenery and Bangladeshi village culture. It is simple, warm, and immersive — not a tourist resort. Optional trips to places like Sylhet city, tea gardens, Ratargul Swamp Forest, or Jaflong can be arranged at your own expense if the group wishes.

Please note: Tours and extra outings are optional, arranged locally, and paid for by volunteers. We will help organise them, but we cannot guarantee safety or availability — volunteers join at their own judgement and risk.

Personal responsibility: All volunteers participate entirely at their own risk. Disabled Children Fund BD and its organisers will support you as best we can, but we cannot be held legally or financially responsible for accidents, theft, illness, injury, loss, or any other unexpected incident before, during, or after the trip. You are responsible for your own travel insurance, visa, vaccinations, behaviour, health, and belongings.

How It Works

Three simple steps. The more people who share, the faster we fund the next trip.

1

Apply for free

Fill in the short form below. No payment needed to apply. You can also share the page to bring in more supporters.

2

People donate £10

Friends, family, and community members chip in. Every £10 brings us closer to the next £1,500 milestone.

3

We fund the next volunteer

When we hit £1,500, £3,000, £4,500 etc., we book a flight for one eligible applicant. Any surplus above the flight cost goes directly to wheelchairs, adaptations, and commodes.

4

Watch the journey live

Selected volunteers share videos, photos, and Facebook Live updates from Sylhet. Donors and followers see exactly where the money went.

Donate to the Travel Fund

Donations are voluntary and do not enter you into any selection. You are simply helping us reach the next £1,500 milestone.

All donations are processed securely through Donorbox.

Apply for the Travel Fund Draw

Application is free. If we have more applicants than funded spots, we will select fairly by random draw from all eligible applicants.

📹 Follow the Journey Live

When funded volunteers travel to Bangladesh, they will share videos, photos, and Facebook Live updates from Sylhet. Donors and registered followers will be able to see exactly where their money went — from wheelchair deliveries to home adaptations and village life.

Media notice: Volunteers agree to be photographed and filmed as part of documenting the trip. This content is used to show donors where their money went and may appear on the website, Facebook, YouTube, and other communications.
