This is not a typical volunteer placement. It is a hands-on, eye-opening, village-based experience in one of the most beautiful and welcoming parts of Bangladesh.
Your UK-Bangladesh return flight is included from your £1,500+ fundraising.
Simple village accommodation with ceiling or table fans. No air conditioning. Bring a sleeping bag or camping mattress for comfort.
Basic meals are included. For fuller, nicer meals during your stay, you can contribute £50 per week (£100 for a typical 2-week trip).
Airport pickup and transport to the rural project village are arranged for you.
Stay in a green, non-city village surrounded by Bangladeshi community life and culture.
Swim in the village pool, enjoy evening walks, and build real community connection.
If the group wishes, we can help arrange trips to Sylhet tea gardens, Ratargul Swamp Forest, Jaflong, or Cox's Bazar — paid for by volunteers.
Help fit a wheelchair, install a ramp, or deliver a commode to a family in need.
What volunteers cover themselves: personal travel insurance, Bangladesh visa, vaccinations if needed, and pocket money for extra meals out, tea-garden visits, souvenirs, or optional restaurant evenings.

Optional tours to places like Sylhet tea gardens, Ratargul Swamp Forest, Jaflong, or Cox's Bazar can be arranged locally and paid for by volunteers. We will help organise, but we cannot guarantee safety or availability.
Volunteers join this trip at their own risk. Disabled Children Fund BD will do its best to support you, arrange safe transport, and guide you during activities, but we cannot guarantee your personal safety, prevent accidents, theft, illness, or other unexpected events.

Many families with disabled children in rural Bangladesh are destitute. A wheelchair is not just mobility — it is dignity, access to school, and a chance to be part of family and community life. A simple home adaptation can keep a child safe and give parents peace of mind.
The first £1,500 you raise covers your return flight to Bangladesh, airport-to-village transport, and basic village accommodation. Anything above that goes directly to equipment and adaptations for destitute children.
A balanced mix of meaningful work, cultural immersion, rest, and adventure. Optional extras like restaurant evenings or tea-garden day trips are paid from your own pocket money.

Every volunteer becomes a storyteller. Donors and followers will be able to see exactly where their money went.
All volunteers agree to be photographed and filmed during the trip. This content helps us show donors exactly where their money went and may be used on the Disabled Children Fund BD website, Facebook page, YouTube channel, and other communications.
If you have specific concerns about being filmed, please mention them in your application and we will discuss them with you before the trip.
You do not need to be a qualified therapist or experienced fundraiser. You just need energy, empathy, and a willingness to get involved.

Physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and doctors who can advise on equipment and posture.
People who can share the experience online, make videos, write blogs, and bring more donors in.
