We provide practical support right now — wheelchairs and home adaptations for children with disabilities in Sylhet. Our bigger dream is a comprehensive disability centre, but that future depends on volunteers, founders, and fundraising.
Founded in 2017 in Sylhet, Bangladesh, the Disabled Children Fund BD is a community-led initiative dedicated to empowering children with disabilities and their families.
What we are doing today: providing wheelchairs, home adaptations, and practical support that help children with disabilities move, access their homes, and live with greater dignity.
What we want to build: a comprehensive disability centre with education, rehabilitation, medical care, family support, and community spaces. This is our long-term vision — not yet a reality. We need skilled volunteers, founding partners, and donations to make it happen.
If you share our vision, you can support us by donating, fundraising with friends and family, volunteering your skills, or becoming part of our founding team.
We focus on practical support that makes an immediate difference. As we grow, we hope to expand into the wider services below.
Providing wheelchairs and mobility equipment so children with physical disabilities can move more freely and take part in daily life.
Practical changes at home — ramps, rails, accessible bathrooms, and safe spaces — so children can live with comfort and independence.
Future plan: Specialized education programs tailored to each child's unique learning needs once our centre is built.
Future plan: Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation programs run by skilled volunteers and local staff.
Future plan: Counselling, training, and resources for parents and caregivers through our centre.
Future plan: Programs and activities that promote inclusion, social connections, and active participation in community life.
